Girls Varsity Swimming 3rd at SEC Championships

The Tecumseh High School Girls Swim and Dive Team competed on Friday November 8th (Prelims) and Saturday November 9th (Finals) in the 2019 SEC White Division Championship Meet at Dexter Community Pool.  Out of the 8 SEC White Division Swim and Dive Teams, Tecumseh finished 3rd overall with a total of 242 point, behind Dexter (520 points) and Chelsea (329 point).  

 

Tecumseh finished with 8 SEC All Conference Swims, including:

 

  • 200 yard Medley Relay of Danley, Hensley, Solarski, and Lore - 1st place with a time of 1:50.81
  • Linda Hensley  - 2nd place in the 200 yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:12.49
  • Emily Solarski - 2nd place in the 50 yard Freestyle with a time of 25.14
  • Julianne Lore - 3rd place in the 50 yard Freestyle with a time of 25.53
  • Emily Solarski - 1st place in the 100 yard Butterfly with a time of 57.42
  • Amelia Danley - 2nd place in the 100 yard Backstroke with a time of 1:00.94
  • Linda Hensley - 2nd place in the 100 yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:09.92
  • 400 yard Freestyle Relay of Lore, Solarski, Sanders, and Hensley - 2nd place with a time of 3:38.93

Tecumseh ended the 2 day event with 8 season best times and 5 high school career best times, including:

 

 

  • Rebecca Ries in the 200 yard Freestyle
  • Amelia Danley and Lauren Stimpson in the 200 yard Individual Medley
  • Emily Solarski and Amaris Benschoter in the 50 yard Freestyle
  • Taylor Randolph in the 100 yard Backstroke
  • Lauren Stimpson and Amaris Benschoter in the 100 yard Breaststroke  

 

Emily Solarski's 100 yard Butterfly also set the Dexter Pool Record.  She now has Pool Records in Tecumseh, Jackson, and Dexter.

 

This was the final meet of the girls regular season.  From here, Eight members of The Tecumseh High School Girls Swim and Dive Team will head to the Division 3 State Finals on November 22nd and 23rd at Oakland University.  These swimmers include Kylie Balent, Amelia Danley, Kylie Dawley, Linda Hensley, Julianne Lore, Makayla Sanders, Emily Solarski, and Lauren Stimpson.
