The Tecumseh Baseball team saw their goal of a Regional Title fall just out of their grasp in extra innings on Saturday, as Dearborn Divine Child scored one run in the bottom of the 8^th to take a 2-1 victory at Eastern Michigan’s Oestrike Stadium in Ypsilanti.

The game quickly turned into a pitcher’s duel between the Falcons Liam Gibbons and Tecumseh’s Dirk Ysassi.

After no scoring in the first and second innings, the Indians broke through first in the top of the third. Designated Hitter Cruz Torres got the game’s first hit by either team with a single to left, Zeke Schmidt then laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt which hugged the first base line,  and after pausing to see if the bunt would roll foul, Gibbons picked it up an hurriedly attempted to retire Schmidt at first, only to fire the throw in to right field, setting the Indians up with runners at second and third and no outs.

After Sam Abbott hit a sharp grounder back to Gibbons for the first out, Connor Bullinger picked up an RBI with a ground ball to second, scoring Cruz from third. Gibbons then stranded Schmidt at third getting out the inning with a strikeout.

Meanwhile, Ysassi was perfect through the first three innings, retiring nine straight batters. But the Falcons Andrew Ryan lead off the 4^th with a triple into the right field corner and promptly scored the game’s tying run on a sacrifice fly by Cole Boike.

The Indians mounted threats to break the tie in both the 5th and 6^th innings but were unable to produce the lead run. Tecumseh had runners at first and third after singles by Torres and Abbott, but the threat ended with Torres being thrown out at home on a steal attempt. Jeremy Bennett singled with one out in the sixth but could move no further, as Gibbons retired the next eight hitters.

Divine Child also had chances to end the game in regulation, advancing runners to 2^nd base in both the sixth and seventh, but Ysassi closed the door on the Falcons forcing the game to continue. Ysassi left after the seventh after holding the Falcons to 1 run on 4 hits and striking out 2.

Then Falcons pushed the game wining run across in the bottom of the eight, when Andre Davis singled off Indian reliver Avery Kane, but was promptly thrown out trying to steal. Freshman DH Ryan McNally then doubled to right and was replaced by pinch runner Ben Cameron. After an intentional walk was issued to leadoff man Andrew Ryan to set up a possible double play situation, Boike lifted a short pop up into left field which landed just inside of the line in fair territory and just out of the grasp of outfielder Sam Abbott then bouncing away as Cameron raced around the bases with the winning run.

The Indians finished the game with 5 hits, all singles, including two by Torres and one apiece by Abbott, Jeremy Bennett and Kyle Barden. Gibbons who pitched all eight innings for the Falcons, picked up the win for Divine Child Striking out seven. 

With the loss Tecumseh ends their season with a record of 23-12 after winning both the SEC White Championship and District Title while making a sweet 16 appearance. The Falcons went on to defeat Williamston in the quarter final 12-2 and will now meet Orchard Lake St. Mary on Thursday at 11:30 at MSU in the MHSAA Semi-final.

The Tecumseh Indians rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh on Wednesday to squeeze past the #2 ranked team in Division 2 MHSAA baseball with a 4-3 triumph over New Boston Huron at Nicolay Field at Adrian College. The win advances the Indians to the Regional Final this coming Saturday at Eastern Michigan University’s Oestrike Stadium at 12:30 against Dearborn Divine Child.

Once again pitching was the Indians calling card, as Rocco Williams turned a complete game victory allowing just two unearned runs until the seventh inning. where he worked his way out of a jam to procure the final out and preserve the one run advantage.

Williams held the powerful Chiefs offense, which outscored their District opponents 41-1 this past weekend, scoreless for the game’s first five innings, running the Indians pitching staff scoreless streak to 17 innings. Early on, New Boston starter Cash Muzzy was equally impressive, giving up just one hit and striking out four over the first three innings.

But Tecumseh broke through in the 4^th inning when Williams started off the inning with a single to left and a stolen base. Williams then moved to third on a Kyle Barden ground out. After a walk to Austin Kane, Williams then scored the game’s first run on an infield single by Lex Glover, moving Kane to second. After Logan Ware reached first on a fielder’s choice which retired Ware at third for the second out of the inning, Zeke Schmidt came through with a clutch two out hit singling home Glover to push Tecumseh’s advantage to 2-0.   

The game remained 2-0 until the bottom of the sixth when the Chiefs plated a pair of unearned runs on two hits, which included an RBI single from Chiefs 1^st baseman Max Morse.

As the game moved to the decisive 7^th inning the Indians were now facing New Boston Huron reliver Owen Delano, who had taken over with two out in the sixth, coming in from shortstop while Muzzy replaced him at short. Delano got the first out, striking out Zeke Schmidt, but Sam Abbott started an Indian rally with an infield hit, beating out a grounder to second. Connor Bullinger was then hit by a pitch advancing Abbott to second. Jeremy Bennett the hit a hard ground ball in the hole at short which Muzzy made a diving stop on to keep it in the infield, but the tried to nip Bullinger at second, but made an errant throw to second which scored Abbott and moved Bullinger to 3^rd. That brought Williams to the plate, who already had a single and a double in his previous three at bats, and he lifted a fly ball to centerfielder Dayton Miller, and then speedy Bullinger beat Miller’s throw to the plate after the catch for a critical extra run before going to the bottom of the seventh.

Indians fans could not rest easy as the Chiefs pounded out three straight hits, starting with a Noah Benas double up the gap in right center, an RBI single to right by Jaxson Surma and a surprise bunt single to third by Muzzy, putting the tying run at second and winning run at third with no one out.

But Williams settled down an got Jacob Forkas on an infield fly to Glover for out number one. Next Adian Sainto lifted a short popup to Abbott in left with the runners unable to advance. The game was now up to Max Morse at the plate, who grounded to Glover at second base, who gloved it moving to his right and flipped to Bullinger for the game’s final out.

The final line score for winning pitcher Rocco Williams was 7 innings pitched, 3 runs, 1 earned, 9 hits with 3 strikeouts. Delano took the loss for New Boston in relief.

With the win the Indians are now 23-11 this season, while New Boston Huron finishes their season with an impressive 31-6 mark. The Indians will now get ready for the Regional Final on Saturday against Dearborn Divine Child, who defeated Grosse Pointe North in a 14-11 slugfest in their semifinal to advance to Saturday’s Final round. The Falcons with bring a 26-6 record into the game with Tecumseh.

The Tecumseh Indians found a winning combination on Saturday to win the MHSAA District title, don’t let the other team’s score. Rocco Williams and Dirk Ysassi each threw 2 hit shutouts against Adrian and Milan to help the Indians capture the district title and move on to the Regional this Wednesday, June 3, where they will face New Boston Huron at 5:30 at Adrian College’s Nicolay Field. 

In game number one the Indians squared off against the host Adrian Maples and the game remained scoreless for the first 2 1/2 innings, but the Indians flexed their offensive muscles in the bottom of the third scoring 6 times to break the game open.

From there Williams continued to cruise through the Maple lineup, striking out four while allowing just two hits and working around four Indians errors. While the Indians were held to just four hits, Kyle Barden drove in two runs and Austin Kane also added an RBI. The other two Indian hits came off the bats of Lex Glover and Connor Bullinger.

In the championship game Tecumseh faced the Milan Big Reds, who had eliminated Dundee 5-4 in the day’s first semifinal. Tecumseh scored a run in the first inning, but once again the big inning was the third, where Tecumseh scored six times to take a 7-0 lead. The Indians then added 2 runs in both the 4^th and 5^th for a walk off Mercy rule win.

Ysassi kept the Big Reds of the scoreboard striking out two and holding Milan to just two hits. Tecumseh pounded out 10 hits in the title game, led by a Rocco Williams home run and two RBI’s going 2 for 4. Jeremy Bennett also had two hits including a double. Cruz Torres also smacked a double and Zeke Schmidt and Lex Glover each drove in a pair of runs.

Tecumseh now moves on to the Regional where they will face a strong New Boston Huron squad the is 31-5 this season and ran roughshod over their district competition, outscore three different opponents by a combined score of 41-1.  

The Tecumseh Baseball team played one final regular season game on Tuesday, which produced a large amount offensive fireworks, as the Indians fell to Grass Lake 16-10. 

Trying to get the pitching staff ready for the upcoming District tournament on Saturday, the Indians used 8 pitchers in the game.

Tecumseh grabbed an early lead in the game scoring four times in the second, but the Warriors drew close a 4-2 in the top of the third. From there on the Warriors would score in every inning the remainder in the contest. Grass Lake scored 9 runs over the 4^th through the 6th, but Tecumseh kept it close with six runs of their own to pull within 11-10 after 6 innings. 

Grass Lake then put the game away with a five-run uprising in the top of the 7th to put the game away, which Tecumseh could not match leaving the final score at 16-10.

Hitting hero’s abounded for the Indians leadoff by Connor Bullinger’s 3 for 4 effort, including a triple, a walk and 3 RBIs. Zeke Schmidt and Sam Abbott each had a pair of hits with Schmidt knocking in 3 and Abbott 1. Rocco Williams also belted a double for the Tribe.

The Indians finish the season at 20-11 with a SEC White Championship. Now they will move on to the post season and the MHSAA Tournaments with Districts beginning on Saturday at Adrian and a date with the Maples at noon. The winner of that game will face off in the championship game against the winner of the 10 am game between Dundee and Milan. The championship game is slated for 2:00 pm. Dundee qualified for their semifinal berth on Tuesday with a 3-3 first round victory over Ida.

After the Tecumseh Baseball team clinched the SEC Championship last Tuesday against the Chelsea Bulldogs the two teams met again on Friday to finish their three-game series and close out their league schedule for the year.

The Bulldogs struck for 6 runs in the first three innings and then held on to come away with a 7-5 victory over the Indians. Both teams scored one run in the first inning, but the Bulldogs scored three times in the bottom of the 2^nd to grab an early 4-1 lead. The Indians came back, however, with three runs of their own in the top of the third to tie the game again at 4-4. 

In the bottom of the inning, Tecumseh errors proved costly and Chelsea scratched out a pair of unearned runs to take the lead for good at 6-4, before each team added single runs in the sixth to make the final 7-4.

On offense the Indians were limited to just 4 hits on the afternoon. 

With the loss the Indians end the conference season with a 15-3 record for the championship campaign and are now 20-10 overall. The Indians will enter post-season play next Saturday at noon at Adrian High School against the Maples. The winner of that game will play Milan in the district championship game after the first game.

Despite dropping the opener of their three-game series with Chelsea 7-0, the Tecumseh Indians baseball squad rebounded to take the nightcap 6-4 to clinch the SEC White conference championship.

Game two started as a pitching duel between the Bulldogs Jac Ichesco and the Indians Dirk Ysassi until Tecumseh broke through in the bottom of the third with a 2 out rally off three straight hits, the big blow coming from Austin Kane’s 2 RBI single.

Chelsea came back with runs off Ysassi in the 4^th and 5^th, with Ysassi giving way to Indian reliever Max Roehrig after 41/3, as Roehrig closed out the inning keeping the score at 2-2. The Indians quickly took the lead back in the bottom of the fifth frame when after one out Ichesco walked Rocco Williams and Kyle Barden, before Kane delivered an RBI single right to make the score 3-2 Indians.

Roehrig held the Bulldogs scoreless in the 6^th and the Indians added three big Insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth. Bulldog reliever Wyatt Matusik, who closed out the 5^th for Ichesco, essentially walk the bases loaded, issuing walks to Sam Abbott and Conner Bullinger before hitting Jeremy Bennett with a pitch and all three would score.

Wiliams would drive in Abbott with a single to left and after Matusik was lifted for Kaiden Trevino, Barden lifted a sacrifice fly to center scoring Bullinger. After Kean walked, Logan Ware grounded to second retiring Kean as Bennett crossed the plate with the Indians third run of the inning.

Now leading 6-2 the Indians were just three outs away from the championship, and Roehrig got first two easily on a grounder and a pop up to short.  But Chelsea then mounted a comeback effort as Ichesco lifted a short pop to center field which landed just out of reach to keep the game alive. Caden Basar then smashed a double to the centerfield wall scoring Ichesco. Preston Paoletti then dumped a single to right scoring Basar and suddenly the Tyson Linde was stepping to the plate as the tying run. But the Bulldog comeback would come to an end there, as Roehrig got Linde to fly to Abbott in center and the celebration was on.

In game one, the Bulldogs jumped out in front with 5 runs in the first and adding an unearned run in the second off Indian starter Ben Williams. The game then became a pitcher’s duel between Chelsea’s Preston Paoletti and Tecumseh reliever Kaden Henning. Paoletti was superb for the Bulldogs, scattering 7 hits in a shutout effort, as the Indians got 1 single in each inning, but could not get any of them home.  Henning allowed just one run in the seventh in five innings of work, striking out 3. 

For Tecumseh at the plate, three of the Indians singles belonged to Connor Bullinger.

The two teams will finish their series on Friday in Chelsea starting at 4:30.

The Tecumseh Baseball team defeated Hudson on Friday in a non-conference single game in Hudson.

Winning pitcher Braden Baur and reliver Kyle Barden combined to toss a one hitter at the Tigers while striking out four Hudson hitters. The Indians took the lead in the contest scoring a pair of runs in the third and adding a single run in the fifth. The Indians busted the game open in the 6^th when Connor Bullinger unloaded a grand slam homer to make the score 7-0. Bullinger, who was named the Tecumseh Athlete of the Week this week, went 2 for 4 on the day and stole a base, adding to his career record total after breaking the school record of 74 last week.

In all the Indians collected 8 hits, with Lex Glover going 2 for 4, scoring 2 runs and Rocco Williams clouting a double. Also collecting singles were Sam Abbott, Ben Andrews and Bryce Radant.

The Indians will now ready themselves for their final series of conference play next week against Chelsea, which starts with a doubleheader on Monday at 4:00pm at the Tecumseh Baseball Stadium. The Indians enter the three-game series needing just one victory to clinch the conference championship. The final game of the series will be played Wednesday in Chelsea.

After splitting a doubleheader at Adrian on Tuesday the Indians hosted the Maples on Thursday in the deciding game of the series and won the series with a narrow 1-0 win over the Maples.

After holding the Maples scoreless in the first inning the Indians went right to work to score the only run they needed in the bottom of the first. Connor Bullinger singled to get things started and immediately moved into scoring position by stealing 2^nd base. Jeremy Bennett then laid down a successful sacrifice bunt to move Bullinger to 3^rd. Rocco Williams flied out as Bullinger raced home with what would turn out to be the game’s only run.

From then on Tecumseh’s Dirk Ysassi took control of the game with a dominate complete game two hit shutout. Ysassi, who had no-hit Michigan Center a week ago, exhibited excellent control walking just one Maple hitter throughout the contest. Maple pitching was equally as strong matching Ysassi inning by inning, as Tecumseh could only connect for 5 hits, with Lex Glover hitting a pair of singles. In addition to Bullinger’s hit in the first, the Indians final two hits belonged to Sam Abbott and Austin Kane.

With the win the Indians now possess a two-game lead over Chelsea in the conference standings with a final three game series against the Bulldogs slated for next 

week. the series will begin Monday night with a doubleheader in Tecumseh and a single game Thursday in Chelsea. With a win in any of those three game Tecumseh will 

clinch the league title outright. Tuesday's Doubleheader will begin at 4:00pm

The Tecumseh baseball team travel to Adrian for the first two games of their three-game series with the Adrian Maples this week and got mixed results, downing Adrian 8-2 in the opener and dropping game two to the Maples 8-4.

Rocco Williams provide a stellar performance in game one striking out 9 Maples and allowing no earned runs in a complete game victory on the mound and providing a key 3 run double at the plate to bust the game open for Tecumseh. Also providing offensive fire power for the Indians were Conner Bullinger who went 4 for 4 with an RBI while Ben Andrews and Lex Glover each clubbed RBI doubles. 

The Indians did much of their damage in the 4^th inning where the scored 5 runs to extend a 2-0 into a 7-0 advantage. Adrian countered with a single run in the 5^th, and both teams scratched out a run in the 7^th. The Indians out hit the Maples 11- 7 in the first game.

The Maples turned the tables on Tecumseh in game two busting open a 1-1 tie into a 6-advantage with a five-run 2^nd inning before reliver Max Roehrig came on in relief of 

Indian start Ben Andrews to record the final out. The Maples added two more insurance runs in the 4^th inning while Tecumseh scored a run in the fifth and scored 2 runs in 

the 7^th. Connor Bullinger was 1 for 2 at the plate, making him 5 of 6 on the day. Indian RBIs in the nightcap belong Jeremy Bennett with a double and Brayden Baur with a two RBI double.

The loss was Tecumseh’s first loss in conference play bringing their league leading record to 13-1 and 17-8 overall. The Indians will now host the Maples in the deciding game of the series on Thursday 4:30.

The Tecumseh baseball team hosted the Western Panthers in a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday, and the visiting Panthers pulled off a sweep by winning both games by scores of 7-2 and 7-6.

In game number one, Tecumseh’s Dick Ysassi held the Panthers scoreless over the first three innings but Western broke through with 3 runs in the 4^th and 2 runs in the 5^th and 6^th. Tecumseh broke up the shutout with a run in the 5^th and scored a lone run in the 7^th. Despite the 7-2 final score, the Indians out hit the Panthers 9-8 as Connor Bullinger went 3 for 4 with a double and Braden Baur had a pair of singles to lead the Tecumseh offensive effort.

In the second game Tecumseh led 6-2 after 4 innings but the Panthers scored five times in the fifth to take the lead 7-6 and hold on for the 7-6 win when the game was called after the 6th because of darkness.

Bullinger continued to have a big day in game two with a double and a solo home run while Jeremy Bennett had 3 hits in the nightcap.

Tecumseh returns to SEC play next Tuesday when they travel to Adrian to face the Maples in a doubleheader at 4:00 pm.  

The Tecumseh Baseball squad enjoyed a three-game sweep of the Jackson Vikings this week by winning game one 11-1 on Monday and taking a 7-2 lead in game two before weather halted the game which was suspended an picked up on Wednesday. When resumed, the Indians continued to roll to a 12-2 win, halted after 5 innings by the 10-run mercy rule. Finally, in the regularly scheduled Wednesday contest the Indians triumphed with a 7-0 shutout win.

In game two of the series, Jackson jumped to a 2-0 lead after the first inning, but the Indians reclaimed control with a 7 run second inning before the rains came. The Indians then scored 4 in the fourth and 1 in the fifth to bring the game to an early end. 

Braden Baur, who pitched the first three innings on Monday, pick up the win while striking out four and Connor Bullinger tossed two scoreless innings on Wednesday to close it out.

At the plate Austin Kane knocked in 3 runs including blasting a two-run homer. Jeremy Bennett and Rocco Williams each smacked doubles, with Bennet’s double scoring two runs. Bullinger also went 2 for 4 at the plate and stole 5 of the Indians 10 stolen bases.

In the final game of the series, the two teams went scoreless through the first three innings until Tecumseh broke the deadlock with two in the fourth, and then scored in every inning the rest of the way. Meanwhile, Ben Andrews was holding Jackson scoreless, striking out 9 Vikings while completing a two-hit shutout. Jeremy Bennett once again led the Indians offense, collecting a pair of hits including a double with an RBI. Kyle Barden, Lex Glover, Sam Abbott and Kaden Henning also added RBI singles.

The win pushed the Indians record to 16-5 overall and 12-0 in the SEC White. The Indians will hold senior night on Thursday with a doubleheader scheduled at 4:00 PM against the Western Panthers. 

The Indian baseball squad hosted a three team Invitational on Saturday, dropping a 6-2 decision to Whiteford and coming back to take the nightcap against Michigan Center 2-0.

In game one the Indians jumped to a 2-1 lead, but the Bobcats scored all the runs they would need in the top of the third, scoring five times off Indian starter Kyle Barden to make the score 6-2. The Bobcats collected only four hits in the game, but benefited from 7 walks issued by Barden and reliver Max Roehrig. The Indians countered with 7 hits as they got two hits apiece from Sam Abbott and Rocco Williams, while Connor Bullinger, Braden Baur and Jeremy Bennett each collected singles.

In game two the big story was the Indians pitcher Dirk Ysassi, who tossed a complete game, shutout, no-hitter, as the Indians defeated the Cardinals 2-0.

While Ysassi was tossing his gem, the Indians scored twice in the 4^th inning on a 2 RBI single off the bat Jeremy Bennett for the game winning runs. Other top hitters for Tecumseh included Bryce Radant and Kyle Barden who each went 2 for 2, with Radant collecting a double.

In other action in the Invitational Whiteford defeated Michigan Center 5-2.

With the split on the day Tecumseh pushed their record to 13-5 on the year. The Indians will continue their current homestand with a doubleheader on Monday against the Jackson Vikings.

Junior pitcher Ben Andrews allowed just two unearned runs while scattering 7 hits to lead the Tecumseh Indians to a 12-2 five inning mercy rule victory over Adrian Madison on Friday. 

The Indian offense was also hitting on all cylinders as Tecumseh scored runs in four of the game’s five innings, including 5 run innings in the first and fifth frames. The Indians 9 hits were scattered up and down the lineup, led by Sam Abbott’s two hits and RBI, while Connor Bullinger and Lex Glover each drove in a pair of runs. Others driving in runs Kyle Barden, Ben Andrews, and Zeke Schmidt. The Indians were also aggressive on the bases, swiping 5 bases led by Bullinger who had a pair of stolen bases.

The Indians will return home on Saturday, May 2^nd for the Tecumseh Tri starting at 10:00 AM at the Tecumseh Baseball Stadium.

The Tecumseh baseball team traveled to Mason on Monday and lost both games to the home standing Bulldogs 1-0 and 7-2.

Pitching dominated game one as the Indians were victims of a no-hitter and Mason pushed across a lone run in the bottom of the 7th to record the victory. Indian starter Rocco Williams hurled for six shutout innings holding Mason to just 5 hits and striking five. Connor Bullinger had the only offensive highlights for the Indians stealing 2 bases.

In game two the Bulldogs took control of the game early scoring 6 runs in the first inning on their way to the 7-2 win. The Indians used four pitchers in the contest, led by Kyle Barden striking out 4 and allowing just 1 run in 2 innings of work. On Offense Zeke Schmidt had a pair of singles and Cruz Torres cracked a double for the Indians.

The Indians record falls to 11-4 and the Indians will continue their road trip on Wednesday with another doubleheader at Grass Lake.

The Tecumseh Baseball team split a doubleheader on Friday with Bedford as the Kicking Mules won game one 7-3 and the Indians rebounded in game two with a 10-2 win in a game shorten to four innings due to rain.

In game one the Kicking Mules jumped out to a seven-run lead with 3 runs in the 1^st and 4 runs in the 3^rd off Tecumseh starter Austine Kane. Reliever Dirk Ysassi then held Bedford hitless the rest of the way, and the Indians put 3 runs on the board in the 4^th and 5^th innings but could not complete the comeback to fall 7-3. Rocco Williams continue to display his hot bat going 3 for 4 including a double and an RBI, as did Connor Bullinger who went 2  for 3 with a double and Kyle Barden added an RBI double.

The Indians wasted no time in the second game scoring 3 times in the first and 6 times in the second to lead 9-0, enjoying the benefit of 5 Bedford errors. The Indian onslaught was once again spurred on by Williams who finished 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s. The Indians were able to produce their 10 runs on only 5 hits and other singles belonged to Sam Abbott, Cruz Torres and Zeke Schmidt. 

The hero for the Indians was winning pitcher Max Roehrig who battled the rainy conditions holding the Kicking Mules two just 2 runs and only allowing 2 walks before the game was called because of the rain.

Tecumseh will be in action again on Monday when they travel Mason to take on the Bulldogs at 4:00 pm.

The Indians continued their mastery of SEC White Division foes this season moving to 9-0 in league play after downing Lincoln 10-2 at home on Wednesday.

Indian pitcher Ben Andrews kept Rail-Splitter hitters off balance all game long mixing fastball balls with his change-up to toss a complete game victory, allowing just single runs in the 2^nd and 6^th innings while fanning 10 hitters in 6 ⅔ innings of work.

While not having an inning of more than 3 runs, the Indians offense was able to push runs across the plate in every inning to reach 10 runs. Kyle Barden was the Indians leading hitter going 2 for 3 with an RBI. Other top hitters for Tecumseh included Connor Bullinger with an RBI triple and a pair of stolen bases, Rocco Williams and Zeke Schmidt each had doubles and Lex Glover added a 2 run single.

The game was called with one out left to go when a thunderstorm forced the game to be terminated.

The Indians are now 10-1 overall and will travel to Bedford on Friday for a doubleheader with the Kicking Mules.

The Tecumseh Indians hosted Ypsilanti Community High School on Tuesday in a make-up single game and easily handled the Grizzlies with a 15-0 three inning mercy rule win.

Dirk Ysassi limited the Grizzlies to just 1 hit, tossing a complete game shutout and picking up the win. The Indians wasted no time on offense, scoring 10 runs in the first inning and 5 in the second for the fifteen runs need to end the game.

Sam Abbott belted a pair of triples knocking in two runs and Bruce Radant was 2 for 2 with a triple of his own and two RBI’s. Ben Andrews also collected 2 hits and 2 RBI’s while Cruz Torres added a double for Tecumseh.  

The win pushes the Indians record to 9-1 and a perfect 8-0 in league play. The Indians will finish their three-game series with Ypsilanti Lincoln at home on Wednesday with first pitch slated for 4:30. 

The Tecumseh Indian Baseball team continued its dominance of SEC White foes this season on Monday with a doubleheader sweep of Ypsilanti Lincoln with 8-2 and 4-0 wins over the Rail Splitters. 

Tecumseh jumped to a 4-0 lead after 3 innings in game one and cruised to the win behind a strong pitching effort by Rocco Williams, who went 6 2/3 innings and struck out 13. Kyle Barden and Logan Ware provided the big blows for Tecumseh at the plate, driving in 3 runs apiece. Barden was 3 for 4 in the opener and also scored three times while Ware was 2 for 4 with a double. Jeremy Bennett and Austin Kane each were 2 for 3 with a double and Zeke Schmidt and Lexi Glover each had RBI singles to account for the Indians other two runs.

In game two the Indians scored all the runs they needed in the first two innings off Lincoln starter Vincenzo Miano, as Jeremy Bennett and Brayden Baur tossed a combined no-hitter against the Rail Splitters with Bennett tossing 4 innings for the win and Baur going the final three frames for the save. Rocco Williams enjoyed a 3 for 4 performance with an RBI, Connor Bullinger added an RBI single, and Sam Abbott knocked in pair of runs with a two-run single to account for Tecumseh’s four runs. In addition to his pitching heroics, Bennett also added a double at the plate.

The win pushes the Indians record to 7-0 in conference play an 8-1 overall. The Indians will return home on Thursday for game three of the series with the Rail Splitters. 

The Tecumseh Indian Baseball team remained unbeaten in SEC White division play on Monday with crushing wins over the Ypsilanti Grizzlies 23-0 and 19-0 in games shorten to 3 innings due to the 15 runs after 3 innings mercy rule.

In game one the visiting Indians scored 8 times in the top of the first and 11 times in the second to put the game away. The Indians had just 10 hits in the contest but benefitted from 13 walks and 6 errors committed by the Grizzlies defense.

In game two it was more of the same as the Indians scored 15 times in the first inning coasting to the 19-0 win.

Picking up complete game wins on the mound for Tecumseh were Rocco Williams and Jeremy Bennett who manage to record 15 of the 18 outs as strikeouts with Williams fanning 7 hitters and Bennett 8. 

Bennett also had a big day at the plate going 4 for 4 in the doubleheader with a pair of doubles. Other top hitters included Zeke Schmidt who cracked 3 doubles in 3 at bats on the afternoon driving in 3 runs and Connor Bullinger who was 2 for 3, scoring 4 runs and picked up 3 stolen bases in the twin bill.

The Indians will host the Grizzlies in game 3 of the series on Thursday at 4:30.

The Tecumseh Indian baseball team split a doubleheader on Saturday with the Dundee Vikings, taking game one 6-1 behind a strong pitching performance by Austin Kane and dropping the night cap 2-1.

In game one, Tecumseh broke open a 1-1 tie with two runs in the 5^th inning and added 3 insurance runs in the 7^th as Kane dominated from the mound, throwing a complete game allowing no earned runs, just 4 hits and striking out 5 on the afternoon while going 2-4 with an RBI at the plate. Jeremy Bennett blasted a 2-run homer, and Brayden Baur had an RBI while going 3 for 4 at the plate. In addition to Bennett’s Home Run, Logan Ware had the Indians only other extra base hit with an RBI double.

Dundee got off to a fast start in game two scoring twice in the first inning off Indian starter Logan Ware. Tecumseh scored their lone run in the top of the second and Max Roehrig held the Vikings scoreless the rest of the way allowing just 1 hit and striking out 4 over 5 innings of work, but the Indians were unable to push one across for an equalizer against the Viking pitching staff.

Baur continued his hot day at the plate going 2-3 in the game, finishing the day 5 of 7.

The Indians finish the first week of the season 4-1 and 3-0 in the SEC White, and their next action will be Monday, April 14, in a doubleheader at Ypsilanti Community.

The Tecumseh Baseball Squad completed a series sweep of the Pinckney Pirates on Thursday with 14-2 mercy rule win in Pinckney. 

Indian hurler Bennett Andrews went the distance pitching all five innings and holding the Pirates two just 2 runs to pick up the win. Jeremy Bennett led the Indians at the plate going 2 for 3 with a pair of extra base clouts, including a double and triple. Connor Bullinger and Lex Glover each with 2 hits as well as for the Indians who pushed their season mark to 3-0 both overall and in the SEC.

The Indians next action will be this Saturday at 12 noon when they travel to Dundee to take on the Vikings in a non-conference affair.

The Tecumseh Indians got their season underway on Wednesday, sweeping the visiting Pinckney Pirates in an opening night double header in Tecumseh by scores of 15-1 and 8-1.

In game one Tecumseh struck early plating 6 runs in the first inning and 8 runs in the 2nd to take a commanding 14-0 lead after two innings. The Pirates scored their lone run in the 3^rd, spoiling the shutout for pitcher Rocco Williams, who held Pinckney to just four hits and striking out 8 Pirates hitters to pick up his first win of the season.

Williams also great night at the plate going 3 for 4 with an RBI and a stolen base. Other Indian notables at the plate included Zeke Schmidt who drove in a pair of runs with a double. Kyle Barden also had a two run double. Lex Glover and Jeremy Bennett each went 2 for 2 in game one with Glover collecting 3 RBI’s, while Bennett knocked in 2. Connor Bullinger knocked in 1 run on a single.

In game 2 the Indians picked up a runs in the 1^st and the 3^rd innings before busting the game open with 3 run innings in both the 4 and 5^th.  Jeremy Bennett picked up the win for Tecumseh with relief help Brayden Baur and Max Roehrig. Schmidt went 3 for 3 and knocked 3 runs to lead the Indian offense while Connor Bullinger scored two runs and Rocco Williams had the big blow with a triple while driving in a pair of runners.

The Indians and Pirates will get together on Thursday with game three of the series in Pinckney.
