Golf Season Comes to a Close for Indians at Regionals

The Tecumseh Indians Boys Golf team saw their season come to an end on Tuesday as they finished 10th at Regional 12 held at the Dearborn Country Club in Dearborn. The Indians shot a score of 355 along with Garden City, but the Cougars took the 5th score tiebreaker to edge in front of the Indians. 

The Indians were led by Collin McDowell, who was part of a group of six players to record a score of84 and finish in 14th place. The group at 84 finished 2 shots short of qualifying for the MHSAA Finals, which extends bids to the top three teams in the tournament and the top three individuals not on those teams.

Other Indian scores included Jacob Barrie 88 (27th), Kellen Cadieux 89 (35th), Trent Fahle 94 (56th) and Lamar Longabaugh 98 (60th). In all, 83 golfers from 20 High Schools competed in the event.

The event was extremely close and concluded with several 5th score playoffs at the top of the team leaderboard, with Chelsea edging Detroit Country Day for the Regional title after they tied for the top spot with 315, and Carleton Airport taking the third qualifying spot over New Boston Huron in the same manner after tying at 339. 

Boys Golf Finishes Fifth at SEC White Tournament

The entire SEC conference met on the golf course on Tuesday at Leslie Park in Ann Arbor to close conference play for the year and although Jackson was the top finisher on the afternoon, the Chelsea Bulldogs earned a second-place finish to claim the overall season championship for 2026.

The Tecumseh Indians finished 5th by the smallest of margins, as just two strokes separated spots three through five in the White Division.

Jackson was best on the day shooting a league best 328, three shots ahead of Chelsea which carded a team score of 331.

Pinckney was next in third place with 343, one shot better than 4th place Adrian (344) and two clear of Tecumseh who finished at 345. Ypsilanti Lincoln (405) and Ypsilanti Community (463) rounded out the field.

Tecumseh placed two golfers in the top ten in the individual standings as Colin McDowell and Lamar Longabaugh tied for ninth with identical 84’s, while teammates Kellen Cadieux shot 88 and Jacob Barrie shot an 89. Trent Fahle and Jamison Gross also competed for Tecumseh with Fahle carding a 91 Gross coming in at 97.

Barrie Leads Indians Effort at Bedford Varsity Invite

The Tecumseh Indians Golf Squad had a busy afternoon on Saturday as they competed in the 12 team Bedford Varsity Invitational at the Legacy Golf Course in Ottawa Lake.

The host school dominated the competition entering two teams in the tournament with Bedford One winning the championship with a score of 309 and Bedford Two finishing second shooting a 320. Third place went to the Clinton Red Wolves finishing with a score of 325, finishing 2 shots ahead 4th place Ann Arbor Greenhills.

Tecumseh found themselves in 7th place with a score of 345. The Indians effort was led by Jacob Barrie who finished in a five-way tie for 14th with and 82. Other Indian scores included Colin McDowell with an 84, Kellen Cadieux 86, Lamar Longabaugh 93 and Jamison Gross 102.

Also representing Tecumseh playing as an individual was Sophomore Nolan Smith who broke into the 80’s with an 83. 

The Indians next action will be on Tuesday May 19, in the SEC Conference Championship at Leslie Park Golf Course in Ann Arbor.

McDowell is Medalist, but Golf Drops Matches to Bedford and Pinckney

The Tecumseh golf team traveled to Timber Trace Golf Club in Pinckney on Thursday to take on both the Pirates and the Bedford Kicking Mules and found themselves coming up on the short end of a very close match decided by just eight strokes. Bedford shot 167 to win the match, with Pinckney carding a 173 for a second-place finish and Tecumseh was just two shots behind at 175.

Despite the loss, Tecumseh was represented by the day’s medalist as Colin McDowell bested the field firing a 38, while Pinckney’s Ben Karolak was runner up at 40. Where Bedford distinguished themselves was placing all four of their counting scores in a row, with Oakley Morrow scoring a 41 and Mason Schroeder, Quintin Bruce and Connor Urbanski coming in with a 42.

In addition to McDowell, the remaining Tecumseh scores included Jacob Barrie (45), Kellen Cadieux and Trent Fahle (46) and Lamar Longabaugh with (48).

Indians Finish 2nd at All-County Battle, Barrie Ties for 4th in Lenawee County

The Tecumseh Indians finished 2nd in the Lenawee County Boys Golf Tournament on Monday at Wolf Creek Golf Club, with a total score of 336, finishing behind only the Clinton Red Wolves, who took the County Crown with a 329 and just ahead of 3rd place Adrian, who registered a score of 338.

The field included 11 teams and 55 golfers and the Individual medalists with scores of 78 were Max Stamats of Lenawee Christian and Robert McDonald of Clinton. Just one shot behind the leaders was Brandon Ruhl of Clinton with a 79 and rounding out the top five were Jacob Barrie of Tecumseh and Lucas Schwartz of Addison who finished tied for 4th with scores of 81.

The Indians Kellen Cadieux, Trent Fahle and Collin McDowell all shot 85, finishing in a 5-way log jam with Noah Staudinger of Adrian Madison and Jayden Valasek for 11th place. The Indians Lamar Longabaugh finished 20th with a 91.

The Golf team’s next action is slated for Thursday, May 7th when they compete in a SEC Tri-meet at Pinckney against the Pirates and the Bedford Kicking Mules at Timber Trace Golf Course in Pinckney.

Indian Golf Defeats Skyline, Falls to Adrian in SEC Tri at The Hills of Lenawee

The Tecumseh Indian Golf squad finished second on Tuesday at the Hills of Lenawee Golf Club falling to rival Adrian and defeating Ann Arbor Skyline in an SEC tri meet.

Led by senior Harrison Boyd’s 43, the Maples shot 176, 7 shots in front of the Indians 183, while Skyline carded a 187 to finish 3rd.

Boyd, along with Skyline's Lucas Phipps finished as co-medalists, while Adrian’s Krisna Prasad Sunkara and Cameron tied for second with 44’s. Next came Adrian's Carter Hawking and Tecumseh’s Lamar Longabaugh with 45. The rest of the Indians scores belonged to Colin McDowell, Jacob Barrie, Jamison Gross and Kellen Cadieux all with 46’s. Trent Fahle rounded out the Indians scoring with a 49.

The Indians next action will be next Monday when they compete in the Lenawee County tournament at Wolf Creek.

Indians Host Annual Tecumseh Invitational Golf Tournament

Tecumseh Golf Club was once again the site of the annual Tecumseh Boys Golf Invitational on Monday. This year’s field included 26 teams and two individuals. In total 131 players teed off in this year’s event.

The Northwest Mounties emerged the champions of the event, posting a score of 319 to edge Temperance Bedford (323) by 4 shots and Chelsea (324) by 5 shots.

The host Indians recorded a total 353 earning a top ten finish, coming in ninth in the event. Collin McDowell and Kellen Cadieux turned in the best rounds for Tecumseh, each with an 87, while Lamar Longabaugh was one shot back with an 88 and Trent Fahle provided a fourth score with a 91.

Individually champion Northwest placed three in the top ten as Jarrett Osterberg was individual champion with a 76, Cody Rowe was tied for second with a 77 and Jake Brafford was part of 4-way tie for 6th with a 79. Other top ten golfers were James Feudi (77) from Petersburg Summerfield, Western’s Andrew Bolt (77), Chelsea’s Parker Wescott (78) and Western’s Derek Vickers 79. Bedford’s Brady Boisselle and Mason Schroeder each turned in cards of 79 and teammate Brady Younce closed out the top ten with an 80.

The golf team will be right back in action on Tuesday when they head to Lenawee Hills too take on host Adrian and Ann Arbor Skyline in an SEC tri-meet starting a 2:00 pm.

Golf Drops close match to Ann Arbor Huron 162-170

Despite getting three rounds of 42 from Jacob Barrie, Kellen Cadieux and Trent Fahle the Indians dropped their Friday night dual match to Ann Arbor Huron 162-170 at Washtenaw Golf Club in Ypsilanti.

The home standing River Rats put four scores below the 42 mark as Andres Mencia-Lawrence and Noe` Volet tied for medalist honors with scores of 40 and Ryder Wilkie and Yash Srivastava followed right behind with scores of 41.

For Tecumseh the Indians final counting score was a 44 turned in by senior Lamar Longabaugh. Tecumseh’s no count scores were Jamison Gross with a 46 and Collin McDowell with a 48.

The Indians will host the annual Tecumseh Invitational this Monday, April 27th at Tecumseh Golf Club. 

Indian Golf Drops Nine Hole Match to Chelsea

The Tecumseh Indians Golf team hosted the Chelsea Bulldogs in a SEC dual match on Wednesday and fell to the Bulldogs 163-172. 

Chelsea’s Parker Wescott was the match medalist firing a 2 over par 38 on the Tecumseh Golf Course front nine. Tecumseh’s Colin McDowell and Chelsea’s Shawn Potter shared 2nd place as co-runners-up each carding a 41.

The rest of the field was tightly bunched as other scores for Tecumseh included Lamar Longabaugh with 42, Jacob Barrie with a 43, Kellen Cadieux with a 46. Also for Tecumseh were Trent Fahle with a 48 and Jamison Gross at 51. 

Other scores for the Bulldogs included Kevin Scott and Logan Fansler with 42’s. no count scores or Chelsea include Brady McKale with a 45 and Brady Crawford with a 46.  

The Indians were also in action on Tuesday losing to Saline in a match that was halted after six holes due to the weather and declared final.

Indian Golfers Win first SEC Tri-meet over Jackson and Ypsilanti Lincoln

The Tecumseh golf team started the SEC conference season 2-0 on Tuesday as the Indians placed 4 golfers in the top 5 of their season opening Tri-meet at Jackson’s Ella Sharp Park Course in Jackson.

The Indians turned in a score of 163 besting the Jackson Vikings 170 and the Lincoln Railsplitters 199 to take the match. Individually, the Indians were led by Jacob Barrie with a 39, which was good for runner-up medalist honors, finishing just one shot out of the lead behind Brayden Norton of Jackson who took medalist honors with a 38. Right behind them in 3rd place were Tecumseh’s Kelllen Cadieux and Jackson’s Eli Bowman each with 40. Seniors Collin McDowell and Trent Fahle each took the final two spots in the top 5 with scores of 42.

Ypsilanti Lincoln’s top performer was Ryan Lane with a 43. Other golfers for Tecumseh were Lamar Longabaugh with a 47 and Jamison Gross with a 48.

With Wednesday’s Match canceled due to rain and storms, the golf teams next action will be Friday at the Madison Ryder Cup Tournament.

Tecumseh Golfers Win Ida High School Larry Murdock Memorial Invitational Tournament

The Tecumseh Indians Men’s Golf team started their season in grand style on Friday, winning the Larry Murdock Invitational at Green Meadow Golf Course in Monroe.

The Murdock invitational was a Stableford competition where golfers try to win points for their team by receiving points for eagles, birdies, pars and bogeys and the team with the most points wins.

The Indians amassed 156 points to top the 16-team field, narrowly edging Ida (154) and Flat Rock (153).

Individual scores for the Indians were Collin McDowell with 78, Jacob Barrie 79, Kellen Cadieux 77 and Lamar Longabaugh 78. Trent Fahle and Jamison Gross also competed in the tournament with a no-count score of 83 for Fahle and a 96 for Gross. Levi Evans of Dundee was the tournament medalist with a round of 74.

The Indians will now begin the SEC season on Tuesday at Ella Sharp Park Golf Course in Jackson at 3pm.
