The Tecumseh Indians fell in the opening round of MHSAA District play on Wednesday night 9-2 to Carlton Airport at the Tecumseh Soccer Stadium.

The Jets struck first with on a goal from Lena Lozan-Bogedain on a pass from Payton Toth five minutes into the contest. The Jets increased their lead to 2-0 on a goal by Olivia Gratz 6 minutes later.

Tecumseh responded quickly scoring in less than a minute on a goal by Brook Stark, but at that point Gratz would go on a personal scoring spree, scoring Carleton’s next four goals of the game, three of which were in the first half, and despite a Tecumseh goal by Valeria Codina, the Jets led 5-2 at halftime.

Any chance of a Tecumseh second half comeback evaporated quickly in the second half, as three goals, one by Gratz for her 5^th of the game and a pair of scores by Toth occurred in the first four minutes of the second half put the game out of reach at 8-2.

Toth would score again during the 19^th minute of the half to complete the hattrick and with the score now 9-2, Chole Bullinger blasted the Indians final goal of the season past Jets goalie Marissa Chapdelaine.

The Jets finished the game outshooting Tecumseh 24-10, as Chapdelaine finished with 7 saves and Indian goaltender Ingrid Bergman finished with 15 saves.

While this loss ends the Indians season with a record of 9-9, Tecumseh soccer fans can see the rest of the District Tournament which features the Jets (14-3-1) taking on (14-3) New Boston Huron as part of a 4 o’clock semifinal doubleheader next Tuesday with Adrian (17-2) facing Gibraltar Carlson (17-1) in the nightcap. The winners will meet for the championship on Thursday, May 28^th, at 5:00pm. All games are at Tecumseh.

The Tecumseh Girls Soccer Team saw their 3-game winning streak come to an end on Monday as the Jackson Vikings scored six goals, 3 in each half, to defeat the Indians 6-1 in Jackson.

Anaya Selby scored the first of her two goals three minutes into the game, breaking the Indians 6 half streak of holding opponents scoreless to give Jackson an early 1-0 lead. 

Tecumseh fought back to tie the game 5 minutes later when Sadie Dyer took a pass from Brook Stark and deposited in the Viking net to tie the game at 1-1.

The Vikings then took control of the game with two goals before halftime when Gillian Snyder converted a penalty kick to give Jackson the lead for good and Selby scored her second goal to make the score 3-1 at the half.

The Indians were not able to mount a 2^nd half comeback, as the Vikings received single goals from Payton Robinson and Jayla Estelle, before Snyder ended the scoring with her second goal of the game.

In all Jackson was able to outshoot the Indians 17-5, with Indian goalkeeper Bridget  Bergman making 11 saves.

The Indians will now head to the MHSAA Girls Soccer Tournament 9-8 starting Wednesday at Tecumseh with the Indians (9-8) squaring off against Carleton Airport (13-3-2) with the winner advancing to the District Semifinals against New Boston Huron next Tuesday, May 26 at 4:00 pm. With a second semifinal to follow. The District Final will be held on Thursday, May 28 at 5:00 pm. Both the semi-finals and finals will be held at Tecumseh.

The Tecumseh Indians Girls Soccer team won their 3^rd straight game by shutout at home on Saturday, this time blanking Monroe St. Mary 1-0.

The game turned into another defensive struggle for the Indians, as neither team was able to get on the scoreboard in the first half, despite the Indians carrying to play for most of the period. 

But 12 minutes into the 2^nd half, Senior Brook Stark got loose and ended the deadlock, scoring the game's only goal. 

Overall, the Indians took 23 shots on goal, while the Kestrels could only test Indian goalie Ingrid Bergman 7 times on the afternoon. Bergman has now not allowed a goal for over six straight halves during Tecumseh’s three game winning streak.

The Indians have their final road trip of the season on Monday when they travel to Jackson to face the Vikings at 6:30.

The Tecumseh Indians Soccer team celebrated their senior night game on Wednesday and after pair of Chloe Bullinger goals and a defensive shutout, they celebrated a 2-0 victory over the Pinckney Pirates.

The two teams went scoreless in the first half, but the Indians carried the play throughout on their way to a 29-4 shot advantage for the game. The Indians finally broke through with a Chloe Bullinger goal 10 minutes into 2^nd half. The 1-0 lead was maintained until Bullinger scored an insurance goal during the 39^th minute of the second half.

Indian Netminder Ingrid Bergman earned her second straight shutout in the contest. Bergman finished the evening with 4 saves. With the win, Tecumseh splits the season series with Pinckney, after the Pirates prevailed in a 2-1 game back in April.

Tecumseh will play its final home game of the regular season on Saturday when they host Monroe St. Mary’s at 11 am in the Soccer Stadium.  

The Tecumseh Soccer team scored early and often on Monday night, using seven 1^st half goals to blitz Ypsilanti Lincoln 8-0 in SEC White division soccer action at the Tecumseh Soccer field.

Brook Stark and Leila Morris each scored a pair of goals while the Indians received single goals from Chloe Bullinger, Valerie Codina, Lily Haeussler and Ally Barrie during the Indian onslaught of the Lincoln goal. Barrie’s goal was the game’s only scoring in the second half. Tecumseh outshot the Railsplitters by a 17 to 3 margin and Indian goalkeeper Ingrid Bergman stopped all three Lincoln shots to register the shutout.

The Indians will be home again on Wednesday when the program host senior night against the Pinckney Pirates starting at 5:30.

The Tecumseh Girls Soccer team traveled to Adrian on Wednesday, and the host Maples came away with a 5-1 win over the Indians. 

The Indians were unable to contain the Maples Tatum Borton, who scored four of the Maples five goals, including three in the first half which gave Adrian a 3-1 lead at the intermission. Borton scored in a number of ways, scoring an unassisted goal, on a penalty kick and on a free kick for her three first half goals.

Jaeleigh Niese scored Adrian’s other goal with an assist from Ella Salenbien, while Niese picked up an assist on Borton’s fourth tally.

Tecumseh’s goal came in the first half, scored by Chloe Bullinger and at the time pulled the Indians within one at 2-1, but Tecumseh was unable to sustain the momentum from there.

Despite the loss, Tecumseh goalkeeper Ingrid Bergman was spectacular in goal, turning away 21 Maple shots on the evening.

The Soccer team will be in action next on Friday in a non-conference game against Monroe St. Mary.

The Tecumseh Indian Girls Soccer team saw another home game be interrupted by weather on Monday, as they dropped a SEC White Division contest to the Chelsea Bulldogs 2-0 in a game called complete at the end of the 1^st half because of rain.

The victorious Bulldogs received goals from Emma Ruszkiewicz and Avery Cousino, scoring twice on 14 shots with 9 on goal in the half, as Ingrid Bergman made 7 saves on the evening. Brooke Stark supplied the Indians their lone shot on goal.

 The Soccer team will travel to Adrian Wednesday to square off against the Maples. 

The Ypsilanti Grizzlies defend their home pitch on Wednesday, coming away with a 1-0 victory over the Indians in a defensive struggle. The two teams combined for just 12 shots on goal but the Grizzlies socred in the 24^th minute of the second half on a goal by Nargis Seraji-Bozorgzad, which would stand up the rest of the way for the Ypsilanti victory.

Leading the Indians on offense was Brooke Stark who fired 6 shots at the Ypsilanti net. Overall, the Indians took 10 shots in the game with only 5 reaching the Grizzlies net. Goaltender Ingrid Bergman stood tall in the Indians net, turning away 6 Ypsilanti attempts on the evening. 

The Indians next game will be home next Monday, when they host the Chelsea Bulldogs at the Soccer Stadium starting at 4:30.

Chloe Bullinger scored the game's only goal a little after the one-minute mark of the first half and it would stand up the rest of the way as Tecumseh took a 1-0 victory over Jackson at the Tecumseh Soccer field.

A pop-up thunderstorm delayed the game with about 5 minutes remaining in the first half but neither team was able to score as play resumed, with Tecumseh continuing to lead until the game was called.

Tecumseh outshot the Vikings 9-8 as Ingrid Bergman earn the shutout and Mya Clark made 8 saves for Jackson.

The Indians now are off for a full week, with their next action on Wednesday April 29^th when they travel to Ypsilanti to face the Grizzlies.

The Tecumseh Girls Soccer team lost a defensive struggle on Monday falling to the Pinckney Pirates 2-1 in SEC White Conference action.

The Pirates scored both of their goals in the first half and then held on in the second half to earn the victory on their home pitch. Scoring Pinckney’s goals were Harper Cogswell just five minutes into the game and Julia Garcia connected on what would turn out to be the game winner in the 18^th minute of the first half.

Chloe Bullinger brought the Indians with one in the second half, but the Indians were unable to gain the equalizer down the stretch. Bullinger led the Indians on offense with four shots on goal. 

The Pirates won the shots on goal battle, outshooting Tecumseh 5-4 on the night and Indian netminder Ingrid Bergman made 4 saves. 

The Tecumseh Indian Soccer team blitzed Ypsilanti Lincoln for 6 first half goals on Saturday on their way to a dominate 8-0 SEC White win over the Railsplitters in Ypsilanti.

The Indian onslaught began just 7 minutes into the game when Riley Foss connected on a pass from Chloe Bullinger for the game’s first goal. Seven minutes later the Indians scored again, starting a stretch of 3 goals in 3 minutes.  First, Brook Stark found Sam Belleau open and Belleau pounded it into the back of the net to make it 2-0. A minute later Bullinger took a pass from Ava Snyder, scoring to making it 3-0. The run was completed by an unassisted goal by Stark pushing the lead to 4-0.

To finish off the 1^st half, Ava Synder pumped in two more goals, both unassisted, before the halftime buzzer to give Tecumseh a 6-0 advantage at the break. 

In the second half Tecumseh added two more unassisted markers by Fawn Milliken and Kayliegh Brindamour to round out the scoring at 8-0. Defensively the Indians could not have been stingier, allowing not a single shot on goal to reach goalkeeper Ingrid Bergman who is credited with a shutout.

The Indians now have a pair of conference games coming up this coming week, traveling to Pinckney on Monday and hosting Jackson on Wednesday. Both game are scheduled to begin at 5:30.

The Tecumseh Indians Girls Soccer team could not crack a tough Adrian defense on Wednesday night and fell to the Maples 4-0 at Indian Stadium.

The Maples came out strong scoring three goals in the first half to seize control of the game in the early going. They received first half markers from Tatum Borton, Jaeleigh Niese and Ella Salenbien to build their 3-0 lead after 30 minutes. 

In the second half Borton scored again with an assist from Salenbien for the lone goal of the half to push the final score to 4-0. Adrian held Tecumseh to just two shots on goal through the entire contest as Maple Goalkeeper Sophia Rink earned the shutout for Adrian. Tecumseh netminder Ingrid Bergman made 12 saves for Indians.

The Indians will try to get back in the win column on Saturday when they travel to Ypsi Lincoln to take on the Railsplitters starting at 11:30 AM.

The Tecumseh girls’ soccer team ventured on the road Monday to take on the Chelsea Bulldogs where Chelsea’s Avery Cousino scored a three-goal hat trick to lead the Bulldogs to a 5-1 win over the Indians.

Cousino scored her first goal 15 minutes into the game, but Tecumseh’s Chloe Bullinger knotted the score 7 minutes later with an assist from Brook Stark, but that would be the only goal for the Indians on the afternoon. Cousino scored the next two goals to push the Bulldog advantage to 3-1 and Emma Ruszkiewicz and Isabella Radomski added 2^nd half goals for the Bulldogs to make the final score 5-1.

Despite the loss, Tecumseh’s Ingrid Bergman played a strong game in goal for the Indians turning away 19 Bulldog shots. The Indians had 8 shots on goal for the afternoon.

The Indians next action will be on Wednesday as they host the Adrian Maples at 5:30 in the Indian Soccer Stadium.

The Tecumseh Indians Girls Soccer team defended their home pitch with a pair of victories on Saturday, first downing the Dundee Vikings 3-2 in a tight match, and then topping the Coldwater Cardinals 3-0.

In game one against Dundee, Brook Stark scored a hat-trick to account for all three Indian goals, starting in the game’s 10^th minute when she took a pass from Payton Defer and buried it past Dundee goaltender Paige Schneider to give Tecumseh a 1-0 lead, but Dundee knotted the score 1-1 a minute later with a goal from Ryan Straup.

Stark then gave the Indians the lead for good with a second goal before the half and then scored the game winning marker 2 minutes into the second half to give Tecumseh a commanding 3-1 advantage. 

Straup picked up her second goal in the 14^th minute of the 2^nd half, but Dundee could not get the equalizer as Indian goaltender Bridget Kourt shut the door the rest of the way to pick up the victory.

In Game two against Coldwater, Stark again played a major role scoring the game's first two goals, the first unassisted and the second aided with an assist from Ava Snyder. Synder then pushed the final score to 3-0 converting a penalty kick. In the shutout Tecumseh goalkeeper Libby Christman made 6 saves.

The Tecumseh Girls Soccer team traveled to Ypsilanti on Thursday and fell to the Grizzlies 2-1 in an SEC White Conference game.

The Indians got on the scoreboard first with a goal from Riley Foss in the 27^th minute, with an assist from Brook Stark. But the Grizzlies connected on a pair of goals late in the first half from Sophia Frank and what would prove to be the game winner for Naysa Simoneau to take a 2-1 lead before halftime. 

Indian Goalkeeper Ingrid Bergman was solid in goal, especially in the second half, with 8 saves on the afternoon, but the Indians were unable to get the equalizer and the Grizzlies held on for the win.

Tecumseh’s record is now 2-1 and the Indians will see their next action on Saturday, when they host the Tecumseh Soccer Invitational with the action starting at 10:00 am. 

The Tecumseh Women’s Soccer picked up their second win of the season on Monday night as they blitzed the Blissfield Royals 6-0 in their home opener at the Tecumseh Soccer Field on a cold and windy Monday evening in Tecumseh.

Senior captain Brook Stark scored a pair of goals in the first half to put the Indians in the lead and completed the hat trick with the first goal of the second half in the 7^th minute to push the advantage to 3-0. Tecumseh then put the match out of reach on a pair of goals by Riley Foss with assists by Sam Belleau and Ana Snyder. Finishing the scoring was Mya Brock with an unassisted marker in the 33^rd minute.

Indian netminders Ingrid Bergman and Bridget Kourt shared the shutout, each stopping one shot in a fine effort by the Tecumseh defense.

The win pushes the Indians record to 2-0 after they defeated Hillsdale last Thursday 8-0 in a dominate performance against the Hornets. Riley Foss led the Indian attack in the contest with a second half hat trick, while Stark had two first half tallies both assisted by Snyder. Also netting their first goals of the season were Sam Belleau and Leila Morris, with Morris scoring the game winner just two minutes into the match. Payton DeFer ended the scoring converting on a successful penalty kick near the end of the contest.

The soccer team’s next action is slated for Tuesday night when they travel to Pinckney for their SEC White opener with the Pirates.
