Boys Varsity Swimming Beats Adrian at SEC

The Tecumseh High School Boys Swim Team competed in the South Eastern Conference - White Division Meet with prelims on Friday 2/22 and finals on Saturday 2/23 at the Dexter Community Pool. Tecumseh's 8 man team finished 6th out of 8 teams, beating the Adrian Maples by just 5 points. The final scores were Dexter 653, Pinckney 386, Chelsea 329, Jackson 247, Lincoln 235, Tecumseh 168, Adrian 163, and Ypsilanti 24. The Tecumseh boys had 4 season best times in the prelims on Friday and 8 season best times in the finals on Saturday. The Medley Relay team of Cole Wanzeck, Kyle Mitchell, Giovanni Lore, and Gabe Roberts made a state cut with a time of 1:46.23 and Giovanni Lore was just .02 seconds from a state cut time in the 100 Butterfly with a career best time of 56.91. Other season best times included Cole Wanzeck in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke, Kyle Mitchell in the 100 Breaststroke, Alex Mitchell in the 100 Butterfly, and Colin Harris in the 500 Freestyle. The team will next travel to Milan on Saturday 3/2 to compete in the Southern Michigan Independent Swim League (SMISL) Meet.
