The Tecumseh High School Girls Swim and Dive Team competed against the Dundee High School Girls Swim and Dive Team at Dundee High School on Thursday September 5th.  Dundee beat Tecumseh by the narrowest of margins with the final score being Tecumseh 91, Dundee 92.  Tecumseh placed first in 7 out of the 12 events, including a first place win by the lone Tecumseh freshman diver, Bryleigh Ahearn, with a score of 172.45.  The Tecumseh girls ended the night with 3 new State cuts, including Amelia Danley in the 100 yard Backstroke with a times of 1:02.69, Linda Hensley in the 100 yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:11.89, and the 400 Freestyle Relay of Emily Solarski, Julianne Lore, Makayla Sanders, and Linda Hensley with a time of 3:49.90.  The 200 yard Medley Relay of Amelia Danley, Linda Hensley, Emily Solarski, and Julianne Lore bettered the previous state cut in this event with a time of 1:54.03 and Linda Hensley bettered her previous state cut time in the 200 yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:14.98.  These times also qualified these girls for the Michigan Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (MISCA) meet, along with Emily Solarski and Julianne Lore in the 50 yard Freestyle with respective times of 26.07 and 26.12.  The next competition for the Tecumseh Girls Swim and Dive Team will be the first of their only two home meets this season and will take place on Thursday September 12th against Ypsilanti High School Girls Swim and Dive Team.
