The Tecumseh High School Girls Swim Team competed in the Southeastern Conference White Division Championships on Saturday October 31st at the Charles S. Cameron Pool in Chelsea.  The girls ended up 3rd in the conference with 301 point.  Dexter came in first with 720 points, Chelsea in 2nd with 446 points, Lincoln in 4th with 244 points, and Pinckney in 5th with 202 point.  Unfortunately, Jackson and Adrian were not able to be part of our meet this year.  Tecumseh girls finished the meet with 6 All Conference Swims; 4 new state cuts; and 17 season best times, 10 of which were high school career best times.  All Conference Swims were completed by Linda Hensley placing 1st in the 200 yard Individual Medley with an improved state cut time of 2:09.83, Makayla Sanders placing 3rd in the 50 yard Freestyle with an improved state cut time of 25.81, Amelia Danley placing 3rd in the 100 yard Butterfly with a new state cut time of 1:03.05, Linda Hensley placing 1st in the 100 yard Freestyle with an improved state cut time of 53.24, Amelia Danley placing 3rd in the 100 yard Backstroke with a new state cut time of 1:01.11, and Lauren Stimpson placing 3rd in the 100 yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:16.82.  Other new state qualifying times included Makayla Sanders in the 100 yard Freestyle with a time of 56.25 and the 400 Freestyle Relay of Makayla Sanders, Kylie Balent, Amelia Danley, and Linda Hensley with a time of 3:50.50.  Season best times were also achieved by the 200 yard Medley Relay team of Amelia Danley, Linda Hensley, Kylie Balent, and Makayla Sanders with an improved state cut time of 1:53.58, Kylie Balent and Kara Olberg in the 500 yard Freestyle with respective times of 2:13.85 and 2:34.63, Lacey Gilson and Evelyn Adams in the 50 yard Freestyle with respective times of 32.61 and 35.53, Lauren Stimpson in the 100 yard Freestyle with a time of 1:01.62, Kara Olberg in the 500 yard Freestyle with a time of 7:09.87, Amanda Harris in the 100 yard Backstroke with a time of 1:23.13, and Lacey Gilson in the 100 yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:36.99.  This is the end of the regular season for the girls.  Those that have made state cuts, including Linda Hensley, Makayla Sanders, Amelia Danley, and Kylie Balent will compete at the MHSAA Division 3 State Meet in 3 weeks on 11/21 at Lake Orion High School.
